2011, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular SurgeryCitation Excerpt :Dependency on home oxygen and COPD have been identified as co-morbidities associated with poor outcome for any major surgical procedure.289,290 In addition, this condition is known to be associated with an increased prevalence of AAA291,292 and is an independent predictor of AAA rupture.135 Thus, patients with severe COPD and AAA are at an increased risk of rupture and have an apparently higher risk for any type of intervention.
