Abstract

Evidence from tissue culture experiments and in vivo studies indicates that certain forms of antigen presentatio render T cells unresponsive to subsequent antigenic stimulation. Great progress has been made recently in understanding the induction, maintenance, and in vivo relevance of this unresponsive state, called clonal energy.
