A Diagnostic Approach to Recurrent Orofacial Swelling: A Retrospective Study of 104 Patients
2017, Mayo Clinic ProceedingsOrofacial granulomatosis
2016, Clinics in DermatologyCitation Excerpt :Additional studies describe improvement of signs and symptoms in patients practicing elimination diets, adding to the evidence that diet may be contributory.40,47,56,57 Microbiologic agents have been associated with chronic granulomatous diseases, including tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, and CD, thus their suspected role in OFG.58,59 Studies have primarily focused on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium paratuberculosis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Borrelia burgdorferi.
Paradoxical relationship between TNF-alpha antagonists and sarcoidosis
2014, Seminars in Arthritis and RheumatismNeurologic manifestations of sarcoidosis
2014, Handbook of Clinical NeurologyCitation Excerpt :Hybridization was 4.8 times more likely in sarcoidosis patients than in controls (Mitchell et al., 1985). Saboor and colleagues, using PCR, found M. tuberculosis DNA in 10 of 20 patients with sarcoidosis and an additional 20% of patients had nontuberculosis mycobacterial DNA detected (Saboor et al., 1992). On the other hand, also using PCR, Bocart et al. detected evidence of M. tuberculosis in only 2 of 24 patients (Bocart et al., 1992) and Popper et al. found M. tuberculosis in only 2 of 15 sarcoidosis patients (Popper et al., 1994).
