Association analysis with the qualitative trait IgE using the χ2 method

Locus (alleles)No (% IgE+)χ2dfp value
Analysed microsatellites are tabulated according to their genetic location as established in published genetic maps44,45 and with data obtained in our families. For each marker the allele sizes (in bp) are given together with the number of high IgE cases with that allele and the total number of high IgE and low IgE cases with that allele. The percentage of cases with high IgE in the set of individuals informative for each marker is also presented under the “no (% IgE+)” column. A percentage above 50% implies an excess of high IgE individuals with that allele and less than 50% implies a deficit. Alleles with less than 5% frequency were pooled together and given under the category “rare alleles”.
