We have read with interest the study of Obiora et al 1 regarding the effect of benzodiazepines (BZs) on the risk of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). It is concluded that the use of BZs was associated with an increased risk for CAP and CAP-related mortality. However, the effect of BZs in patients with CAP is still a matter of debate.
