**PAPER BY BALDI *ET AL* (*THORAX* 2004;59:428–32)** 

In the paper entitled “Prognostic significance of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and expression of cell cycle inhibitors p21 and p27 in human pleural malignant mesothelioma” by A Baldi, D Santini, F Vasaturo, *et al* published in the May 2004 issue of [Thorax (2004;59:428–32](http://thorax.bmj.com/lookup/volpage/59/428)) there was an error in the sentence beginning on line 14 of the left hand column on page 430. The sentence should have read “The median survival in patients with low p21 or p27 expression was **shorter** than in those with high p21 or p27 expression.” The publishers apologise for this error.
