2023, Lung Cancer: an Evidence-Based Approach to Multidisciplinary ManagementPatient and Procedure-related Characteristics Correlated With Severity of Hemoptysis Following Percutaneous Transthoracic Needle Biopsy: Results of a 10-year Retrospective Review
2022, Journal of Radiology NursingCitation Excerpt :Hemoptysis is the expectoration of blood that has originated from either the lungs or the bronchial tubes (Bidwell & Pachner, 2005). The reported frequency of hemoptysis is 0.3% to 15.5% (Anderson et al., 2003; Choi et al., 2012; De Filippo et al., 2014; Heerink et al., 2017; Hwang et al., 2018; Khan et al., 2008; Kim et al., 2018; Kiranantawat et al., 2019; Laurent et al., 2000; Song et al., 2013). If bleeding following PTNB is detected early and controlled, patient outcomes are optimized.
