ICAM expression was increased in the airway epithelial cells from asthmatic subjects (Bentley et al., 1993; Bianco et al., 2000). TSLP is reported to up-regulate the surface expression of ICAM-1 on eosinophils (Wong et al., 2010) and thus, it may be speculated that TSLP may be involved in expression of ICAM-1 on epithelial cells in asthmatic patients.
