Observational data from other smaller paediatric series37,38 have been lower. The mean adult recurrence rate is 30%,68 but importantly ranges from 16% to 52% in studies, overlapping the recurrence rates observed by Poenaru et al.6 Cases of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax were included in three of the four paediatric studies.6,37,38
