2014, Clinical ImagingCitation Excerpt :For evaluation using CT, tumor size, lymph nodes, and staging were classified based on the location (i.e., mediastinal or hilar) and the 7th edition of the Union Internationale Contre le Cancer–TNM staging system [18]. The conventional criterion used for determining lymph node metastasis on CT was an SA of 10 mm or larger on axial images [9,12,11]. An expert radiologist evaluated lymph nodes metastasis using CT imaging based on the conventional criteria before the present study.
Optimal anatomic coverage for CT in staging lung cancer: Lessons from PET-CT correlation
2011, Lung CancerCitation Excerpt :For the last 25 years, body CT scanning has been the primary imaging tool for staging lung cancer. The reported accuracy of CT staging has varied widely [14–20], but it is clear that CT represents a major improvement in assessing the resectability of lung cancer. What is less clear is what needs to be scanned.
