Effect of peptide inhalation on lymphocyte, macrophage, eosinophil, neutrophil, basophil and mast cell counts in bronchial biopsy specimens from responders and non-responders

The results are expressed as the number of positive cells (median and range) per mm2 beneath the basement membrane. Statistical comparisons of diluent and peptide inhalation (within-group comparisons) were performed using two-tailed Wilcoxon signed rank tests. Between-group comparisons of the change from diluent to peptide in responders and non-responders were performed using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test.
