Scores on questionnaires in patients with sarcoidosis and healthy subjects

SarcoidosisHealthy subjectsDifferences between medians (95% CI)p value
Values are expressed as median (interquartile range) and as differences between medians (95% CI). Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) included eight multiple item scales. Scores can range from 0 (worst) to 100 (optimal). The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) included seven questions related to anxiety and seven related to depression. Each item is rated on 4-point scale (0–3) giving maximum scores of 21 for anxiety and depression, respectively. A score of >10 points is suggestive for the clinical presence of anxiety or depression. EQ-5D is expressed as a number of patients or healthy subjects who have none or some or severe problems on the five domains. n = 20 healthy subjects for all questionnaires.
